Soul Winning – The Core of Cell Ministry

The Biblical Foundation of Soul Winning

1. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20)

  • Jesus’ final words to His disciples were not suggestions, but a command: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”
  • This mandate is not limited to pastors or evangelists—it is for every believer. Each Christian is a witness, and each believer is called to reproduce their faith in others.
  • Application for Cell Leaders/Assistants:
    • See every member as a soul winner in training.
    • Teach and model evangelism so it becomes a culture in the cell.

2. The Mission of Christ (Luke 19:10)

  • Jesus clearly stated His purpose: “The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”
  • If soul winning was central to Christ’s mission, it must remain central to ours. To neglect soul winning is to miss the very heartbeat of Jesus.
  • Illustration: Jesus left the 99 sheep to pursue the one lost sheep. In the same way, leaders must be ready to leave their comfort zone for just one soul.

3. The Joy of Heaven (Luke 15:7)

  • “There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need repentance.”
  • Soul winning brings heaven’s celebration to earth. When we evangelize, we partner with heaven in fulfilling God’s greatest desire.
  • Trainer Tip: Remind participants that evangelism is not just church growth—it’s eternal celebration with angels.

4. The Proof of Love (John 21:15–17)

  • Jesus asked Peter three times: “Do you love me?” Each time, the proof of love was linked to action—“Feed my sheep.”
  • Winning souls and discipling them is the clearest evidence of love for Christ. Love is not shown in words alone but in action—bringing lost people into God’s family.
  • Application: Challenge leaders to evaluate their love for Christ by their passion for people.
